| 3RF is very appreciative of the many
individuals who have volunteered to assist with school programs and
public Star Party activities. Without volunteers, the 3RF
educational outreach efforts would be reduced.
To qualify:
- Participate in at least 3 Star Parties prior to
official designation as 3RF Volunteer
- Participate in a 1 hour Orientation Training
- Be able to demonstrate general astronomy knowledge AND
present such knowledge to public in a polite, simple and helpful
manner
- Encouraged to develop proficiency with one or more
telescope/binocular system
- At least participate in one 3RF Star Party/Activity
per quarter.
- Assist with equipment set up for activities
- Demonstrate the highest regard & safety for 3RF
equipment as well as members of the public
BENEFITS:
- Once selected as a 3RF VOLUNTEER, overnight
accommodations, dinner & breakfast will be provided
- Once selected as a 3RF VOLUNTEER, a logo shirt will be
provided to be worn @ any 3RF activity
- Volunteers may use any piece of 3RF equipment for
their own use after public events
