The 3RF Science Teacher Workshop in Astronomy is a three-day, two night, intense study of the cosmos, featuring a plethora of new ideas and new directions in astronomy education merged with infectious learning.  Our instructors fill in the gaps of knowledge and provide hands on views of the heavens, both day and night.  Workshops are open to Elementary and Secondary teachers.

3RF currently conducts summer workshops sponsored by the Gene Conley Foundation and is backed by Region IX and X Texas ESC districts, with more regions soon to come aboard.  Our workshops have been recognized and accredited, as we provide teachers with TEKS related material for their classes, several hours of continued education, and GT credits.

Teachers will room comfortably at the Bowen Lodge situated on the top of a hill overlooking miles of open range, and enjoy famous chuckwagon style cuisine.  Everyone will have the opportunity to gaze at the sun through specially filtered telescopes during the day. Then to showcase our dark skies,

Comanche Springs Astronomy Campus, with many world class instruments, will host star gazing each night of the workshop.
